UNESCO World Heritage in Langhe-Roero – Piedmont
In Langhe Roero, nearly every village has its castle. On day 1 of your tour you will visit the wine museum Wi Mu (Barolo - Castello Falletti). In this museum you will start on the top floor and wind your way down through a trail of light and sound effects, ending up in the enoteca on the ground floor. The ine related topics in this museum range from the climate, the earth, the changing seasons with autumn colours, the silence of winter and the beautiful flourish of spring and summer to the hands that work the land... From wine and history, to wine and art, to wine in films and music, to wine in literature and last but not least: wine and slow food.
Your tour will continue along Castello Grinzane Cavour, where you can enjoy the most beautiful view of the Langhe valley and experience the rich history of the castle with the help of an audio guide. Throughout the route you will discover other little gems, which, although they aren’t always open to the public, are still worth a moment of your attention.
On day 2 you will start touring the Barbaresco area and then head to Govone where you will visit a castle. For a brief moment you will cross the border into the Asti area for a visit to the Marchesi Alfieri, a wine estate which is very popular among the Belgian royals, who have close ties with its owners. While you are there, you will enjoy an excellent wine tasting.
Throughout the tour, you will also stop at some of our other classic tasting locations.
If you have another couple of days available, you could explore the Roero a bit further on day 3, and on day 4, you could head to Dogliani, Murazzano, Cortemilia and Borgomale.
It is also always possible to rent a car to cover the distance between Turin airport and Cherasco. For your overnight stays, we suggest a real treasure which is part of the heritage of the region.
