It seems as if it's always been there, but it was only ten years ago that the University of Pollenzo started teaching students from all over the world the very best there is to know about gastronomy. The festivities are now largely behind us, but if you're fast to catch a flight, there are definitely still opportunities that remain.

If the festive ceremony was central to the evening of June 13th, then the 14th of June an eat-in/purtè event of spectacular proportions in which the community, the students and ex-students, the co-workers and international representatives of the Slow Food movement took part..

The Sunday of June 15th saw a Slow Food event with market squares and sales booths for local artisanal products, all in complete compliance with the 0 km concept, and a large number of artistic presentations.

The Monday of June 16th, 2014 will feature the presentation of the Manifesto of Pollenzo as well as a day-time programme filled with a multitude of workshops, conferences and tastings.

On the Tuesday of June 17th the French chef Michel Bras will receive his honorary doctorate and the new Scuola di Cucina di Pollenzo will be inaugurated.

The Wednesday of June 18th will feature colloquia presenting numerous new projects and concepts and the next day will see a conference themed the "the Feast", followed by various other Slow Food activities, ending in musical entertainment and dancing.

In other words, the spotlights are once again on Langhe and Piedmont!
