Eat, drink and sleep like the locals – Piedmont

This is a highly original formula for Italy enthusiasts that not only want to dive deeper into their discovery of Piedmontese Slow Food and wines, but are also open to surprises following a very original programme, and moreover wish to gain insights into what is being played in the "theatre" of Piedmont.

You will take a glance behind the scenes, far away from the things seen by the average tourist, which can be quite confrontational at times. Even though the Langhe valley has, despite a few signs of growing pains, developed phenomenally as a tourism area in the last twelve years, not everyone has jumped on the bandwagon of high-end marketing and social media.

You will be staying with a foreigner has been living in Piedmont for a long time and who will only allow one single visiting person or family into their home at a time. During your very intensive discovery tour, you will get acquainted with the small players of Piedmont, who, as it were, bring the local, most sublime Piedmontese Slow Food and wines to the ordinary man.

You visit the Saturday market in Alba and visit and taste truffle-based products such as salami and cheese. You also visit the local bakery where you have the most wonderful dolce. You then roll up the sleeves in a authentic pasta workshop and make a visit to the favourite location of Gerard Depardieu, where you are treated to filetto in a multitude of tastes. At noon you enjoy a lunch with dishes from the old days in the Slow Food Lounge. Enjoying Barolo Chinato icecream, strolling through La Morra and tasting Barolo Cru wine – you will experience the dolce vita feeling at its best!
